Root Canal Therapy

MINT dentistry is a highly advanced, premier dental facility that provides comprehensive and compassionate care for a wide variety of complex conditions. Our goal is to help you achieve a gorgeous smile you feel confident flaunting, which starts with good oral health. The board-certified doctors and dental professionals at MINT dentistry recommend root canal therapy for the treatment of severely decayed teeth in situations where a dental filling is no longer a viable option. Also known as endodontic treatment, root canal therapy treats the infected tooth, preventing decay from spreading to other teeth and in most cases, preventing the need for tooth extraction. The MINT dentistry team is aware of the fear that sometimes accompanies these types of procedures. However, we want you to rest assured that we will prioritize your comfort and care by utilizing state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge techniques to complete your therapy with precision and accuracy. Our office also offers sedation dentistry to help ease fears and anxiety and help you relax during your procedure. We invite you to schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry to learn more about root canal therapy.

An infection in the pulp of a tooth can be caused by a deep crack, a cavity, or physical trauma. Some of the most common signs that you may have an infected tooth (and need to seek treatment) are tooth or jaw pain, swelling or discoloration of the gums (around the affected tooth), and changes in the color of the tooth. If the infected pulp is not removed, it will become increasingly painful as the infection spreads to other parts of your mouth. A root canal addresses the infection and stops it from spreading to other teeth or your blood stream.

Garett’s and Dr Assad were AMAZING! They stayed late to ensure I didn’t leave without my temporary crown. Always very welcoming and friendly staff at front desk as well. Great location!

First of all their discount plan is amazing for people who don’t have dental insurance. They recently did a root canal for me at $1100. But more impressive than the affordable care for those without insurance is the warmth and approachability of everyone in the office from the people at the front desk all the way up to the dentists. But I was most desirous of leaving a review because of the hygienist who cleaned my teeth today at the Pearland office. Her name is Carin. She didn’t make me feel “judged” for not having had my teeth cleaned in over a year. She did such a good and thorough job and my teeth look awesome now. She was very quick to notice the slightest discomfort I had when a couple of my more sensitive teeth made me react just slightly. She took care to numb my gums with a gel so she could complete the cleaning of those teeth with a manual instrument rather than the motorized tool which caused discomfort to a few of my teeth. She is obviously not there just for a paycheck, but truly enjoys taking great care of her patients and explaining everything she is doing. I’m a guy who easily gets nervous and jumpy about lots of things, but Carin had me at ease from start to finish. I hope the management and dentists over her know what a valuable part of the team she is. I’m sure they do. I’ll be returning to the Pearland office for regular cleanings and any dental problems I might have, well into the future.

The entire staff was friendly and had great customer service skills. Dr. Perlow and Dominique were the stars of the show though!! I got a root canal and two fillings and they found a way to somehow make it fun. They took their time to ensure my teeth were perfect, that I was comfortable and that I understood every step of the process, including aftercare. Thank you MINT 😊

I am very grateful for Mint Dentistry. I went to another dental office and the dentist there was supposed to do a root canal and because I couldn’t take the pain just left a broken tooth in my mouth. My very first visit I was able to get the broken tooth extracted. Now I’m signing up for all of my routine care as well. Thank you Dr. Lee!!

I didn’t go to the dentist in 2023 because a previous messed my mouth up in 2022 and I had to get a Root Canal and a Crown. So, I have been searching for a good Dentist for me and my wife. After today’s experience at Mint Dentistry in Conyers I believe I have found one. Dr. Hardaway and her staff were super professional, businesslike and courteous! Thank You Ms. Samantha for prepping me and Bro. Q for cleaning my teeth. You two did an excellent job! Dr. Hardaway I can’t wait to return for my 2nd visit in October. Pastor A. Martin

Your root canal therapy appointment will begin with you settling into one of our treatment chairs, where you will be given a pair of our MINT dentistry sunglasses and offered a pair of our Beats headphones. We want you to feel at ease and relaxed while you undergo treatment, so the MINT dentistry team will help you choose the most effective and appropriate type of sedation for your root canal therapy. Many patients request nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral-conscious sedation to help them remain comfortable during a root canal.

During an endodontic procedure, one of our board-certified dentists will assess the inner chamber of your tooth and then carefully remove the infected pulp utilizing state-of-the-art tools and techniques. From there, the inside of the empty chamber will be thoroughly sterilized to remove any lingering debris. Once the tooth is cleaned, it will be filled with a special material to seal and protect the tooth. In most cases, a custom-made crown will be placed over the treated tooth to protect it.

Depending on what sedation was used, you may need to have a responsible adult take you home after your procedure. Your mouth may feel sensitive or swollen, but this should not last more than a few days and your doctor may prescribe a pain reliever. You should schedule a follow-up appointment for six months after your root canal. Our team will check to make sure the infection is gone and that your mouth has healed. After that, you should continue to schedule annual dental exams and bi-annual cleanings to maintain your dental health.
