Invisalign® is great for both adults and teens who want straighter teeth without the pain, hassle, and appearance of traditional metal braces. While they do need to be worn most of the time, Invisalign® can be taken out for eating and brushing your teeth, as well as for special events and playing sports. Far more discreet than metal braces that can cut and poke the inside of the mouth, other people will usually not be able to tell that you are wearing your Invisalign® tray.

Your first set of Invisalign® trays will be created using digital impressions taken at MINT dentistry. You will return to collect your first sets of aligners and receive specific care instructions from one of our skilled doctors. You will need to wear your aligners at least 20 – 22 hours each day for the system to be effective, ideally removing them only for eating and clean. Over time, you will move to the next set of aligners as they gently move your teeth into their proper position. You will need to schedule follow-up appointments every 4 – 6 weeks to have the fit of your aligners checked and to have more digital impressions taken so new sets of aligners can be made. The length of time that you will use Invisalign® will vary based on the original position of your teeth and your cosmetic goals, but most patients wear aligners for about one year.
Treatment Aftercare
Once you have reached your Invisalign® goals, it's important to keep your teeth from moving back to their old position. Invisalign® Vivera® retainers are designed with the same comfortable materials as the aligner trays to help keep your teeth in place after your treatment is complete. Each retainer is custom made at the Invisalign® dental laboratory based on digital impressions taken once your treatment is complete. A member of the MINT dentistry team will speak with you about how often to wear your retainer and how to care for it once it is sent back to our facility from the Invisalign® dental lab. Our team will continue to monitor your teeth alignment and bite at your annual dental exams to ensure your teeth remain in the correct position.
